Hotels To Visit In 2021
Let’s state the obvious:
2020 was an absolute nightmare. It was a Freddy Kruger meets Gwyneth Paltrow from Contagion type of year.
But stars shine the brightest on the darkest nights. And as an eternal optimist, it’s easy to believe that the future can only get better from here.
So after a horror-novel that 2020 turned out to be, it’s safe to say that we’re all looking forward to 2021.
With this new year, there’s one thing for certain — you deserve a vacation. And not just one.
You deserve multiple vacations.
You deserve to sit on a beach.
To drink spicy margaritas with no empty glasses in sight.
To dance in the moonlight.
To laugh with others.
And ideally, with no face-masks needed.
With that in mind, here’s our travel wishlist for 2021. It’s full of a lot of hotels we can’t afford, and some that will drain our already low bank accounts, but each inspires some dreams for the new year.
Hopefully, with some proper precautions and help from lady luck, you’ll be able to realize a vacation or two (or twenty) in this new year.
Pack your bags. Let’s jump in and discover the best hotels to visit in 2021.
Too Exhausted From 2020 To Read?
We totally understand.
Just watch the video below to get the highlights from this article. Otherwise, keep scrolling down to continue reading.
1) Amangiri – Utah, USA
The pinnacle of escapism.
Amangiri in Utah is the perfect place to rest and recharge. The luxury hotel is secluded among some of the most beautiful terrain the Western US has to offer.
And with 600 acres of pure untouched land to rest on, it’s an ideal spot to unwind a tense body and mind.
The only thing more incredible than this hotel might be the price for a room. Get ready to pay up if you’re hoping to slow down.
2) Tierra Patagonia – Torres del Paine National Park, Chile
With a world-class spa, sweeping views, and adventures everywhere, Tierra Patagonia is truly one of the best hotels to visit in 2021.
This sustainable lodge is notable for its innovative design and simple luxury. This all-inclusive hotel provides everything you need from check-in to departure.
All you have to do is arrive.
3) Conrad Hotel – Rangali Island, Maldives
Set on two separate islands, the Conrad Hotel in the Maldives is set over (and under) the beautiful blue waters of the Indian Ocean.
This hotel is renown for its gorgeous villas and excellent culinary experiences. One of the most notable elements is the underwater restaurant on location, the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant.
Better yet, if you fall in love with that undersea dining experience, you can book the underwater villa for a few nights, too.
4) Panorama Glass Lodge – Iceland
The land of midnight sun and northern lights.
Depending on when you book your trip, you can find either at the Panorama Glass Lodge in Iceland.
This small, boutique hotel provides tiny, glass cabins to sleep under the stars in a gorgeous Icelandic landscape. Each cabin offers panoramic views of the surrounding terrain with transparent ceilings to take in the starry nights.
If you and your partner need a romantic retreat, then this hotel is perfect for your next getaway.
5) Grand Hotel Tremezzo – Lake Como, Italy
Pasta, sunshine, and lakefront relaxation.
Grand Hotel Tremezzo, an icon of luxury and history in Lake Como, is an elegantly furnished and exquisite place to stay.
This lovely Italian accommodation is known for its fine dining and stunning views over Lake Como. Moreover, the property features a picturesque swimming pool with lush landscape to compliment.
Ideal for couples, Grand Hotel Tremezzo blends culture and comfort into the perfect vacation.
6) Hanging Gardens Bali – Bali, Indonesia
One of our top choices, this is high on our list of hotels to visit in 2021.
Nestled between a river and the ancient Delam Segara temple, Hanging Gardens Bali offers a pampering escape set among lush Balinese terrain.
This resort consists of a series of villas, each to match local design and decor, set among rolling hills. The villas offer views over storied tropical forests, while providing modern amenities and comforts.
A favorite amenity of ours is the multi-level pool, complimenting the diverse topography around the resort.
7) Amanyara – Turks & Caicos
Looking for something tropical, but Bali is a bit too far?
Sounds like the Caribbean could be a great option (especially for some of our readers on the East Coast) — and what better place to visit the tropical waters here than Amanyara.
This resort is the second Aman property on our 2021 travel wishlist, and the Aman brand is synonymous with luxury and refined service.
At Amanyara, you’ll enjoy an elegant oceanfront accommodation, with crystal clear waters set on a 18,000 acre nature reserve.
Tailored for families and spa + wellness travelers, this property is the perfect place to rejuvenate after an exhausting 2020.
8) Inara Camp – Agafay Desert, Morocco
Formerly known as the Agafay Luxury Camp, this oasis in the desert is located on 10 hectares of land only a short drive from the Marrakech airport.
Although close to the city, the camp feels totally remote, with sweeping views of the Agafay Desert, best enjoyed during sunset.
Here, guests stay in luxurious tents, each equipped with wood floors, a king-size bed, electricity, and your own bathroom and shower.
Glamping in Morocco — what could be better?
9) Tierra Atacama – Atacama Desert, Chile
A hotel group so nice, we had to give them credit twice.
Similar to Tierra Patagonia, the sister hotel of Tierra Atacama provides guests with design-oriented accommodations and countless excursions to enjoy through Chile.
With a spa, restaurant, garden, and swimming pool, this property offers modern comforts set against a remote landscape. Book activities through the 24-hour front desk, such as a trip to the local meteorite field, or simply enjoy volcano-views from the inviting outdoor pool.
This tranquil hotel is an excellent option to restore you inner harmony after 2020.
10) Papaya Playa Project – Tulum, Mexico
Sustainable design, an emphasis on spiritual connection, and oceanfront accommodations on the warm waters of Tulum.
Papaya Playa Project is a series of diverse hotel rooms and villas perched within the Tulum jungle and beaches.

13) Levin Iglut – Lapland, Finland
A stay that’s similar to Santa’s North Pole.
Levin Iglut is a seasonal hotel offering chic, glass igloos in the northernmost area of Finland (Lapland). This snow-covered expanse offers guests a truly unique experience.
Levin Iglut hosts a restaurant on location, and each glass igloo has modern comforts, like heating, a bathroom and shower, and some units offer a private terrace with jacuzzi.
This hotel focuses on the beauty of the surrounding landscape, with an emphasis on the arctic sky above. If you’re lucky, you might catch the northern lights — all you need to do is book some flights.
14) Casa Prana – Lake Atitlan, Guatemala
Casa Prana is an elegant lakeside hotel with upscale suites and rooms.
This five-star hotel accentuates the surrounding landscape, which is truly one of a kind.
Lake Atitlan, the waters upon which the hotel looks over, is a massive volcanic crater in the Sierra Madre mountains.
While staying at Casa Prana, you’ll be greeted each morning with views over this stunning watery expanse, with volcanoes towering off in the distance. The hotel lacks no amenities, either — including a gym, on site restaurant, outdoor pool, bar and lounge, and yoga + meditation classes.
Enjoy one of the 8 luxury suites offered at a reasonable price.
15) Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat – New South Wales, Australia
Lastly, we have a dream destination nestled into the rainforest of New South Wales.
